IT HAPPENED AT DINNER AFTER 8 YEARS...

He was always hanging out with her brother. Drinking. That's what Lay did every single weekend at her parents' home. As the boys will be boys, Vivone stayed inside her room instead, drowning herself on AOL. Chatting. Hey, Facebook didn't really exist then (shocker!) ... It was summer of 2000.

One night, after too much drinking, Lay was crawling on the floor looking for the bathroom ... When Vivone discovered him outside her bedroom door barely moving, only one thing came to mind -- Her parents' brand new carpet! She quickly ran to the kitchen to grab a bag for him.

"I guess I didn't have to go very far to find my prince charming. He was just outside my bedroom door," said Vivone recounting this day with giggles.

In November 2000, at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Lay asked Vivone to be his girlfriend. Without all the drinking.

In November 2008, at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Lay asked Vivone to be his wife. Maybe with a little drinking after dinner at Beaches.

In August 2010, Lay married Vivone. The girl who held his barf bag so he wouldn't damage her parents new carpet.
